Mid-Shore Constitution Bowl

The second annual Midshore Constitution Bowl will begin at 9:00 am on September 12, 2026! The competition will be held at the Talbot County Free Library in Easton.

Modeled after the popular “It’s Academic” quizbowl format, high school teams from across the area will demonstrate their knowledge of civics, interact with local civic leaders, and have a chance to enter the national Constitution Bowl.

Bear Me Into Freedom Showing

Bear Me Into Freedom: Frederick Douglass and the Struggle for America’s Promise is a tribute to Talbot County’s native son, Frederick Douglass, made more poignant during America’s Semiquincentennial.

The exhibition is a 60-minute immersive experience, a video installation portraying the odyssey of Frederick Douglass from his birth and enslavement in the Eastern Shore’s Talbot County to his life’s work championing abolition, emancipation, and equal rights, and his triumphal return to the county as an elder statesman having become one of the most consequential figures of the 19th century.
