On July 8, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was read publicly for the first time.
Two hundred and fifty years later, Talbot County invites residents, organizations, schools, museums, libraries, faith communities, and civic groups to gather for public readings of the Declaration of Independence on July 8, 2026.
