Join the Talbot250 Commission and Friends as we officially kick off Talbot County’s 365th anniversary and the Nation’s Semiquincentennial year with a special screening of The American Revolution, a new documentary series directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt, and written by Geoffrey Ward.
The series tells the sweeping story of how thirteen American colonies united in rebellion, waged an eight-year war for independence, and established a new form of government that would go on to inspire democratic movements around the world. What begins as a political dispute between colonists and the British Crown evolves into a global conflict involving more than two dozen nations—forever reshaping the course of history.
Our event will feature a roughy 45 minute screening and a community discussion exploring the themes of the film and how America’s founding story connects to Talbot County’s own historic legacy.

Presented by Talbot250 Commission with financial support from Talbot County Department of Economic Development and Tourism and Stories of the Chesapeake Heritage Area.
