Join the Trappe community on Saturday, November 7, 2026, for the 159th Annual Nace's Day, a longstanding tradition honoring Nathaniel “Uncle Nace” Hopkins, a formerly enslaved man whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
This year's celebration, themed “Mapping Our Way Forward,” brings the community together to reflect on its history, celebrate its heritage, and look toward the future.
The day begins with a 10:00 a.m. worship service at Scotts United Methodist Church, featuring Minister Eddie Roberts of Church of the King in Easton, Maryland, a descendant of Nathaniel Hopkins.
At 1:00 p.m., the annual Nace's Day Parade will travel through Trappe, featuring bands, classic cars, civic groups, and community participants.
