ST. MICHAELS, Md., May 20, 2026 – The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is proud to host the St. Michaels Flag Day Celebration on Sunday, June 14, offering the community free admission and family-friendly festivities in collaboration with the St. Michaels Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and partner organizations across town.
Honoring America’s 250th anniversary, this red, white, and blue celebration is highlighted by a patriotic boat parade through St. Michaels harbor, beginning at 1pm.

Free tickets for this Your Museum, Your Community celebration can be reserved now by visiting cbmm.org/FlagDay. They will also be available at the door during the event.
“We are delighted to join with our community partners to share this Flag Day Celebration,” said Kristen Greenaway, CBMM’s Ellen & Richard Bodorff President & CEO. “We look forward to celebrating with our friends and neighbors on campus and on the Miles River!”
The boat parade will feature dozens of vessels of all sizes decked out in festive red, white, and blue.
Guests are invited to watch the patriotic procession free of charge from CBMM’s waterfront campus or take part in the fun aboard cruise boat PATRIOT or one of CBMM’s historic floating fleet vessels. Ticketed two-hour cruises, departing at 12:30pm, include opportunities to sail aboard the 1955 skipjack Rosie Parks or charter the six-passenger vessels Old Point and Volunteer.
CBMM invites both familiar faces and first-time visitors to spend the day on its waterfront campus. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy live music and family activities before and after the boat parade.
The fun includes field day activities on Navy Point with the Perkins Family YMCA and a War of 1812 living history demonstration from the Chesapeake Independent Blues as well as displays from the Classic Motor Museum, St. Michaels Art League, and St. Michaels Museum. Don’t miss a special performance from the 9x9 Ensemble of the U.S. Army Reserve 78th Army Band (Fort Dix, N.J.) at the historic Tolchester Beach Bandstand.
“We wanted to make this a special Flag Day in St. Michaels,” said Phyllis Kennedy, Chair of the St. Michaels Parks & Recreation Advisory Board. “This celebration reflects the spirit of collaboration here, and we hope residents and visitors feel that sense of community throughout the day.”

This is a great opportunity to discover all that CBMM has to offer across its 18 waterfront acres along the Miles River.
Guests can explore interactive exhibitions, take in scenic views, and connect with the stories of the Chesapeake Bay shared throughout campus while celebrating this special day in historic St. Michaels. One timely highlight is the Emblems of America special exhibition, which is slated to open in the Van Lennep Auditorium in June and spotlights the use of patriotic imagery on trailboards, figureheads, and other marine carvings in CBMM’s collection.
The St. Michaels Flag Day Celebration is hosted by CBMM in partnership with the St. Michaels Parks & Recreation Advisory Board with support from partner organizations across our community.
